Friday Feature: Why Pinterest is My Go-To Wedding Help Site

On select Friday's, I'm going to feature different resources I love using to help me with my wedding planning process in the hopes it can help you, too. There are so many amazing websites and things to use for inspiration, organization, and ideas!

My first feature is going to be Pinterest (because it's Pinterest obviously). I love Pinterest and I'm sure a lot of you do, too!  I use Pinterest every day - whether I need a new recipe to try, ideas on how to wear a new pair of jeans, or cute ideas on how to fix my hair that day, I can find it all on Pinterest.

I have relied very heavily on Pinterest for our wedding planning. There are a ton of great things Pinterest allows you to do that I found useful. One of my favorite features is being able to collaborate on boards - meaning me and my best friend/MOH, Nicole, can both pin things to one board and be notified when something new is added. This way, she and I put our ideas in there and together we decide what we like and what we don't without saving pictures and sending via text all day! This has also been a really great way to stay organized and keep all of our ideas in one place. Below is a picture of a collaborative board. Next to the pin count, you'll see the multiple silhouettes or you and a friends picture and that's how you know it's one!

I also love that I can pin pictures right from websites. For example, when I look at bridesmaids dress ideas from actual store sites, I can click "pin" when I hover over the picture and pin it right to any board. The best part is that later when I go back on Pinterest, all I have to do is click on the picture and it will bring me directly back to the website the dress was originally featured on. It is a great way to keep all your ideas and links in one place so you don't have to go through your computer history, scowling through the past few weeks activity to find those *perf* pair of wedding shoes you found on clearance at DSW {swoons}. See picture below for what that looks like!

Pinterest is also great for doing exactly what it was made to do - sharing different ideas with the internet on thousands of different topics. I have found so many fantastic ideas on Pinterest that I never would have thought of (like brass accents? To die for). I've found so many helpful tips and tricks too, like where to save and where to splurge, great DIY projects, and I've even found a great idea for the style and colors of my bridesmaids' dresses. Every time I find something I love, all I have to do is click the pin button, choose the folder I want to organize it in and boom - easy access whenever I want to go back and look.

I really believe Pinterest is a fantastic resource for any bride, but especially one who is trying to keep the budget to a minimum. Weddings are going to cost a good sum of money, but they don't have to break you. While there aren't many ways to save on a venue if you have your heart set on one, or that perfect dress, there are so many other places to keep your budget in check and I really believe Pinterest can help you do that.

Love always-
